Neighbourhood Updates |
||
I’m back with your updates for West Bromwich Town Centre along with Greets Green & Lyng.
Firstly, I apologise for the lack of updates over the last few weeks, it’s been busy with the return to school and college – keeping the team on their toes.
So, whats been happening…
Last week saw Op Advance return to Sandwell (Tuesday 16th September 2025). Working from 8am until 8pm on the day, the team worked with a number of internal and external partners focusing on the neighbourhood priorities.
Throughout the day with the assistance of a passive drugs dog called ‘Lucky’ a number of stop and searches were conducted resulting in the recovery of considerable quantity of cannabis. Along with the recovery of drugs, the team arrested 5 males and 1 female for a range of different offences.
Your local PCSO’s also conducted a number of engagement events across the town centre and were visited by lots of local community members. Whilst on patrol our partners were also introduced to our Chief Constable.
Following on from Op Advance and during this week….
The team have made further arrests from West Brom and these relate to the following offences: Shop theft, theft of a motor vehicle, Possession of a bladed article as well as possession of drugs.
Today we arrested a male in relation to the theft of a motor vehicle from Birmingham dating back to May, this was after my eagle eyed officer spotted him whilst dealing with a separate job, this male is stopping with us tonight in the cells whilst the Birmingham Vehicle crime investigation team continue with the enquiries. (Another late night for the team)
Guardian Patrols…. Our usual Guardian Patrols were carried out this week, focusing on areas identified from previous crime data.
Events/Surgeries…. Please remember all of our upcoming events and surgeries are advertised on our website West Bromwich Town | Sandwell | Your area | West Midlands Police | West Midlands Police
